Nutrition

Throughout the centuries in many cultures are stories of the Medicine Man or Woman, the Shaman, the Healer, a person who could heal using nothing but his or her knowledge of plants and nature. Annie believes this natural way is imperative to us, that we have lost our connection to Nature and that the answers are there for us if we look.

She is studying with the College of Natural Nutrition.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!

Rubbish in – rubbish out!

There are plenty of different approaches to diet:-

- Eat local - Hay diet - Macrobiotics - Food combining - Vegetarian - Vegan
- Fat-free - Sugar-free - Everything raw

to name but a few. Any of the above may suit different individuals, at different times and possibly in different circumstances but junk/fast foods are killing us!

Today we have a wonderful selection of foods to choose from, and they come from all over the world. They have to travel, so in order for them to stay fresh long enough to reach the shelves, they are frequently picked early, not yet ripe, which means the vitamins they should contain may not yet be present. They have probably been grown with the use of all sorts of chemicals and pesticides. A growing number of people believe that this practice is not healthy and that eating organic foods is much better for us.

PREPARED WITH LOVE

Ideally food should be prepared with Love in a happy state of mind. There is more and more scientific evidence that what we think affects our reality in all sorts of ways. Being in a state of gratitude is the ideal way to prepare your meals.

INGESTED PEACEFULLY

Be aware that you ingest more than your food. Watching the news, a horror movie, a thriller, a murder mystery while eating, means that you will be ingesting the energy of that movie with your food. You cannot possibly reach a state of Peace within whilst taking in all that aggravation!

Maybe choose instead to savour the food in quiet contemplation with beautiful music in the back ground.

You could try it for a week or two and see if you can feel a difference.

GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS

Food and farming in the UK faces a stark choice. Do we continue to put profit first? Or adopt practices that safeguard the future of what we eat - and those who provide it.
If we let them - the Government, biotech industry and supermarkets will decide for us. It's time to put your foot down.

SUPPLEMENTS

In theory, we should be able to get everything we need from our diets. But do we?
Increasingly, our food is full of pesticides, picked before it is ripe, treated to make it last, and stored for transit. This means that much of what we eat may either be polluted with poisons or contain no vitamins that are any good to us.

All this means that considering daily supplements for full health makes sense. The absence of disease, does not necessarily mean that we are fully healthy or fit.
